Marilyn Monroe Jewish

Just in case you wonder if the legendary Marilyn Monroe was Jewish, the truth is that Marilyn was Jewish.

The world's biggest sex symbol signed up to be Jewish by choice.

To be more specific, Monroe and Arthur Miller wed in a Jewish ceremony before a small group of guests. Rabbi Robert E. Goldburg, a Reform rabbi at Congregation Mishkan Israel, presided over the ceremony. Their nuptials were celebrated at the home of Miller's literary agent, Kay Brown, in Westchester County, New York. Some 30 friends and relatives attended the hastily arranged party.

It has to be mentioned that Marilyn nominally baptised and raised as a Pentecostal Christian but before her 1956 conversion to Judaism, she laughingly rejected Jane Russell's conversion attempts during the 1953 filming of "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes", claiming: "Jane tried to convert me (to religion) and I tried to introduce her to Freud".

We should keep in mind that Marilyn was not persuaded by Arthur Miller to convert to Judaism. In fact, Monroe converted to Judaism before marrying Miller.

Marilyn Monroe Birth Certificate

The world's biggest sex symbol Marilyn Monroe was born Norma Jeane Mortenson on June 1, 1926, in the charity ward of the Los Angeles County Hospital.

According to biographer Fred Lawrence Guiles, her grandmother, Della Monroe Grainger, had her baptised Norma Jeane Baker by Aimee Semple McPherson. She obtained an order from the City Court of the State of New York and legally changed her name to Marilyn Monroe on February 23, 1956.

Here is what appears to be a birth certificate of Marilyn Monroe, born Norma Jeane Mortenson on June 1, 1926. The birth record was created by a local registrar on June 5, 1926, and this certified copy of that information was issued by a Health Officer & Registrar on October 24, 1955. It was photographed and then used for the 1981 article about the death of her father, Edward Mortenson, as depicted on the certificate. Mother was Gladys Monroe; Monroe was a surname that Marilyn Monroe officially used.

According to the original caption: Monroe's film studio, 20th Century Fox, stated that her father passed away when she was a baby but this certificate reveals that Edward Mortenson, who had claimed to be her father, was alive until 1981.

Tori Amos Plastic Surgery

There are many people who wonder: "Has Tori Amos had plastic surgery?"

Needless to say that there are many rumors circulating about Tori Amos bad plastic surgery ranging from celebrity watchers to curious fans who wonder how the alternative singer - songwriter went under the surgeon's knife for such a dramatic  makeover!

In detail, some of the things people have observed is the distinctive bump on the end of Tori's nose is gone, a common enough rhinoplasty procedure and that her eyebrows are now higher than they used to be. Even her eyes seem to have taken on a different shape, which can be achieved by plastic surgery on the eyelids to reshape the appearance of the eye.

Judging by the pictures, Tori Amos still appears to have gotten her latest looks from a surgeon's scalpel.

Tori Amos hasn't confirmed plastic surgery rumors, but from the looks of her transformation from 1990-2009, it's quite obvious.

The truth is that Tori is at an age (49) when many - especially in the entertainment industry - begin having more drastic plastic surgery than just a few chemical peels and laser treatments. When comparing photos of Tori from early in her career and the present, it looks like Tori may have had a rhinoplasty as well as a browlift and eyelid surgery as well.

According to plastic surgeon Dr. Jennifer Walden: "Tori is 45 and looking fabulous! Looking back when she first started her career, her nose was the most prominent feature on her face. Lately, her nose seems much more slimmer and her bump on her dorsum is noticeably absent. Her face also looks very refreshed and vibrant and her eyebrows seem to be slightly elevated. She may have had a brow lift, rhinoplasty and possible skin laser treatment to achieve this more youthful appearance."

Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, Calif. was quoted as saying:  "Tori may have had a brow lift. On her before and after photos, it appears that her eyebrows are elevated. Many celebrities also use Botox and/or fillers to stay looking fresh and it seems likely that Tori may also."

Plastic surgeon Dr. Sherrrell J. Aston revealed: "Tori Amos has been mesmerizing audience across the world for years but now it's her face that has people talking. She looks like she has undergone a brow lift, blepharoplasty, Botox and possibly a neck lift."

Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer claimed: "It is unclear whether Tori has had invasive plastic surgery. She definitely has naturally beautiful skin which can be achieved with peels or laser and careful use of Botox."

You can't be 100% certain that Tori went under the surgeon's knife for invasive procedures to keep her looking smooth. According to plastic surgeon experts, Tori has more likely had fillers and injectables to help compliment her anti-aging regimen. These would include Botox, chemical peels, laser treatments and possible fillers like Juvederm and Restylane.

Conclusion: You can't put your figure on what Tori has actually done on her face because she hasn't confirmed anything yet and nobody of the plastic surgeons who have expressed their opinion has ever treated Tori.  On the other hand, before and after pictures reveal that Tori has definitely gone under the knife and in fact some photos are terrifying.

What do you think? Has Tori Amos had plastic surgery?

Five Best Plus: Movies I Shouldn't Have Watched with My Son

"Peppa Pig" courtesy of
nickutopia.com
Before I begin this post, I maintain that I am a GOOD father. My children are both under two years old and don't really pay attention to what's happening on TV yet unless it involves "Dino Dan," "Peppa Pig," or a "Baby Einstein" video. All I'm saying is that I watched these movies when my oldest son was very little and sleeping for most of the film or just playing in the room for a while. He wasn't watching TV with me, exactly, but he was there when things were happening on screen. If something really bad came on screen, I stopped it or covered his eyes, I swear.

The Seventh Continent (1989)

One of the "happiest" films I can remember, Michael Haneke's feature film debut is a dark, depressing look at a family who has had enough with their mundane and repetitive lives, so they make the decision to destroy everything they own and kill themselves. The fact that the couple has a daughter certainly makes it a little more sensitive, given my son was less than a year old when I first watched the film. Imagine being told by your parents that you - as a unit - are going to destroy all you own and end your lives. And you don't really have a choice. My son didn't seem too broken up about the film - he's got pretty thick skin.

Dancer in the Dark (2000)

Bjork's music is...an "acquired" taste...but her performance in Lars Von Trier's Dancer in the Dark is both meek and surreal. Unfortunately, it's still a Von Trier film (though it is a musical), which means it is unbelievably uncomfortable to sit through. As she dreams of a happier world filled with music, she toils away at a factory, as a terrible performer in a local theater, and as sole caretaker for her son, whom she fears will lose his sight as she has. So, she saves money to pay for an operation she prays will help him. Then there's the murder, the attempted rape, and a hanging, so it's the perfect kids movie. Regardless, my son was in his jumper for most of the film. I'm not sure he loved it...told me there were some pacing problems.

Dogtooth (2009)

This one probably takes the cake for this list - a borderline exploitative look at reality in the sheltered eyes of the beholders. The Greek film centers around a family who lives in a gated off area, including a father that leaves for work every day, a wife, two daughters and a son who have never been outside of the walls of the property. As dad makes up stuff as he goes along, he does all he can to prevent his family from experiencing the world around them, except in the context he provides. But, as his son grows older and begins to mature, he unwillingly allows another into their lives to fill his physical needs, only to see her influence go beyond her purpose. Some incest, nudity, and the graphic death of a cat all led me to believe it was G rated, but my son slept through the whole thing. He doesn't like subtitles.

Rabbit Hole (2010)

Certainly nowhere near as visually offensive as the first three on the list, John Cameron Mitchell's adaption of  David Lindsay-Abaire's play was a bad idea in topic alone to watch with my son. The story of a young couple dealing with the death of their infant son (yes - I decided mine should be in the room with me) is an emotional drain on anyone who has ever had children;  my only child (at the time) was in his jumper, exercising and minding his own business. Needless to say, this brilliant drama was made even more affecting by his presence, ending with me holding him and crying like a baby. I'd still suggest anyone watch the film, but put the kids to bed first. It's brutal.

The Kids Are Alright  (2010)

This really has nothing to do with the topic, as it does with the one scene in the middle between Julianne Moore and Mark Ruffalo that gets really graphic really quickly. Thankfully, I was quick to shield his eyes. Regardless, this Oscar nominee was a terribly overrated film - slow, plodding, and boring, brought down by terrible performances from the two children (Josh Hutcherson and Mia Wasikowska).  Moore, Ruffalo, and Annette Bening do a great job, but even they can't pull up what is really an underdeveloped story that doesn't really go anywhere. I'm more upset that my son had to sit through that than almost seeing simulated sex on screen.

Drive (2011)

I saw this one in the theater first, but loved it so much that I wanted to re-watch it when it came to Netflix streaming. Unfortunately, I had forgotten how graphic some of the moments were and the graphic nudity in the middle of the film. Thankfully, I was quick on the trigger to skip ahead or turn it off. Nicolas Winding Refn's stylish noir has Ryan Gosling at his quietest, along with a laundry list of great performances. Take out the fork scene, the hammer scene, the elevator scene, the robbery segment, the nudity, and the profanity and it's a pretty clean film, right? It's about driving cars! Or, as my son would say, "Cahh-AH! Voom!"

So, there you go. Don't judge me - I would rather my sons be exposed to these films before I'd ever let them watch anything on MTV or "Toddlers & Tiaras."

Dolly Parton Breast Implants

To contact us Click HERE
It's not a secret that Dolly Parton's most famous body part is her breast. Many people wonder if whether or not Dolly Parton got breast implants.

Well, to take things from the start, Dolly Parton when she rose to fame in the late 1970s, she was significantly overweight, although her small frame and costuming made her seem average in size everywhere except the breasts, which were clearly very large and quickly became the target of late-night talk show host jokes.

At the time, whenever asked if her breasts were real, Dolly claimed they were real. In the mid-1980s, she lost a considerable amount of weight. In interviews afterward, Dolly avoided answering whether she got breast implants, referring to any procedure as only a "lift."

In 2002, however, Dolly revealed for the first time in separate interviews with "The Irish Independent" and "The Daily Mirror" that after the weight loss in the 1980s, she lost a great deal of breast size and subsequently obtained breast implants to bring them back to a similar size as she had prior to the weight loss.

It has to be noted that since then, Dolly has made ample jokes in media interviews about their not being natural. She even once joked by claiming: "Yep they are mine! Bought and paid for!"

But Dolly expressed her desire to get them reduced because they have been giving her excruciating back pain for over thirty years now. Besides, Dolly is ony 5 foot 1.

In addition, in the one interview in the "Irish Independent", Dolly revealed how much money her breast implants cost her. Wanna know how much?? Dolly had gotten breast implants at a cost of about $3,000 (which would date them to around the mid-to-late-1980s). Then in the "London Mirror", Dolly explained that she decided to get breast implants after her dramatic weight loss around 1986.

Dolly has undeniably a great sense of humor. So, during the discussions about the "Weapons of Mass Destruction", Dolly has referred to her famous twins as "Weapons of Mass Distraction" and named them "Shock and Awe"!

It has to be mentioned that Dolly Parton used her royalties from the years after "Jolene" (in 1974) to buy her famous breast implants.

One report, in the mid 1980's, of Dolly having her first set of "full silicone" breast implants taken out to be replaced with a new set of "silicone-saline" breast implants could support the claim that her current breast implants are actually her second set of breast implants.

In the mid 1980's, the breast implants used in the years before that, the so-called "full silicone" breast implants, were reported to possibly cause health hazards. The alternative, called "saline" breast implants, were and are considered less hazardous.

It has to be added that Dolly Parton's breast implants increased her measurements to anywhere from 38CC to 48DD!

It has to be mentioned that Dolly Parton revealed to Oprah Winfrey that plastic surgery is the only way to keep her famous look and if something was sagging or dragging, she was going to have it nipped and tucked.

What do you think of Dolly Parton's breast implants?
